Meet Sara's Flock
Every hen at Sara’s Pick of the Coop is special, each is an individual, and each is treated with great care. The flock consists of a wide variety of breeds, this is because different breeds lay different colored eggs.

Meet Sara Mayer
For me, it all started when I was six years old. My dad came home from a hiking trip with a hen that he had found wandering the mountains.That hen taught me that chickens have unique personalities and brought me to enjoy raising them. I was known to my teacher in elementary school as “Chicken Woman”, because I always brought my baby chicks for show and tell. With the support of my family, I was able to learn about chickens hands on! By the age of fifteen I had 200+ chickens and was selling fresh eggs at the local farmer’s markets.
