"I was born in the tiny country of Uruguay, and immigrated to the United States when I was 9 years old. My greatest childhood years were spent in the arid flat ocean side where the Uruguayan coast meets the Brazilian coast. It was there that my love for nature and the ocean was born! Once a student of medicine, I realized that the underlining factor to good health was to be found in lifestyle choices, consciousness around ecology, and caring for ourselves and the land is completely related to the way we grow food."
