"We are Matt and Sarah McLean, and we started Homestead in the Hood, an urban beekeeping business in 2019. We have been living in the MarLee/Westwood neighborhood since 2014 (amazing how time flies!) We strive to promote urban homesteading, renewable growing and gardening practices, but our biggest passion is beekeeping. We own and manage 18 (and counting) hives all over the Denver Metro area."

"We started in 2019 with getting one beehive, which quickly turned into two, and then 18 in year two! We quickly got captivated and addicted! What started as a hobby quickly became something more. So, we are a husband and wife dream team, working out of our humble abode and working every day to spread the love for honeybees. We strive through our social media accounts, hive hosting (including urban settings such as the Denver Performing Arts Center, and rural settings for pollination services) and mentorship programs to demonstrate how to become a beekeeper and all the benefits that come from it."
